How about the cat has a door that can go anywhere. Sort of like the Tardis but a door. I mean who doesn't want one of those. Imagine opening the door and going 100,000 light years away.
Doraemon (#MS-903) was created by the Matsushiba Robot Factory in 2112 so not that far into the future. Due to an electrical bolt during production he was damaged. He was sent back in time to help Great Great Grandfather of his creator Sewashi Nobi. In the past he meets 10 year old Nobita Nobi.
Doraemon helps to make Nobita a better person. From a lazy. absent minded child to kind hearted, brave and courageous.
