When I say Magical Girl I'm sure you envision the Card Captor Sakura, no just kidding you dear reader are probably thinking of the Sailor Scouts.
It seems no matter what Generation you are Sailor Moon is the one of the top Magical Girl anime girls that come to mind.
BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I am going with someone completely different...
Have you heard of
Lalabel, The Magical Girl 魔法少女ララベル
You would be forgiven if you said no, because honestly even before this I hadn't known this one by name. I had seen her in a few transformation videos but didn't know the anime.
There were only 49 episodes to this anime which is from 1980. She even had her own summer vacation episode.

The studio behind this short lived anime is Toei. They actually still have her listed on their site.
